diff welding
somebody told me the other day about welding a standard diff and locking it like a lsd but just cheap and pikey is this possible?

how good/shit is this to do ? will it make car stop wheelspining so much in first gear
and is this impossible to drive without powersteering?

well i'd say andy knows better, my friend welded the diff on his civic, then bought another and replced it, he said it was impossible to drive

Or even worst brake the differential if it's not properly welded...
The cheap solution is to buy the GRIP.That stupid thing they 've made that modifies your open differential into LSD one.It is upgradeable through springs or sth like that.Personally i 've used it on my Baleno with my old GTi's gearbox and i broke it!!Twice i must say and the dealer here kept saying that it was problem from the factory.When i told him about my set up he reconsidered and advice me to buy a LSD one which i did and currently running on Cusco Type RS LSD,greek price is 980euros!!
Be prepared for everything
