Piper Fast Road Cams
Piper Fast Road Cams
I've got a set of Piper fast road cams I bought ages ago and have since decided to go turbo and I've been advised that I'll be better off sticking with the standard cams, so these are up for grabs.

before you sell them you should know that those cams will work really well with a turbo setup

Going to be using a Garndi turbo chip initially, which I believe is good for 200bhp, although it states 150bhp(ATW) on Starkey, and has the rev limiter set at 7600rpm, will be getting a better ecu in the future but I don't want to be pushing the limit of the chip and will the rev limiter hold the cams back?
I'd be more than happy to keep hold of them if I thought they'll work well.

your'll get more horses with the cams, the chip wont hold you back as the cams only make power to 7300

Hey the Turbo chip has enough fuel for 185HP, does not matter what you do extra you will only have that power. If your not running that then run more boost to see the full potential of the chip (also set the car up on the dyno to check AFR's).
Unless you run an AFC to pull more out of the injectors.
Or if you run a higher base rail pressure with an 1:1 FPR (or get a 3:1 FPR). The problem running higher rail pressure is that the fuel curve will be to fat down low and the car will feel a bit sluggish until its on boost.
Turbo chip is made for standard rail pressure, cams, injectors, TB, fuel pump... so its best to keep it that way until you want more power...
Saying that... Do you have pic's of the cams... any marks on the cam journals? as in are the scored...etc as I may be interested in them for my white GTi.

I'll get some pics up on Saturday, working away tomorrow, so I won't be able to get down to the garage and get a pic till then.
As far as I can remember there's no marks on them, but I'll double check.

A little embarrassing, stopped off at the garage on the way home just now and I can only find 1 cam!
Down there doing some work on the Mini tomorrow so I'll have a proper search and get some pics!

Re: Piper Fast Road Cams
As of yet, I haven't found the 2nd.
It's definitely not at the garage with the first and I've checked at home too, hoping I didn't leave it on my old works van!
I used the van to take them to the garage from my house, I'll have to call my previous employer and ask them to check.
