Who wants one. I have one being made now for me but I can get another couple made. They come in at £75 including the drilling and the vat. To suit F13 gear box.

Correct. Swift boxes are getting a bit rare. On bay of e there is loads of vauxhall boxes. You can get close ratio gear sets, quaiffe LSD and many different final drive ratios. Plus they are not made of chocolate.

Justy gearbox is stronger than you think.
If you fancy going 6 speeds, then you can fit Calibra AWD gearbox!?

Yer I no I love my justy box never had any problems with 260bhp through I was curious n 6 gears hmm

Sounds like a good idea. What else needs to be adapted? What sort of power output can they take befor they go bang?

I think the vauxhall box will take 160bhp. I am doing it because of the different ratios and the fact that f13 boxes are common. I also prefer the quaiffe atb LSD to the gripper diff. Drive shafts have to be made but I am working on that with an engineering company. Clutch also has to be changed and also use nova gear lever and rod. Make a new set of gearbox mounts. Should be about it. It might sound a lot of work but I can see me getting fed up with changing boxes all the time

It still sounds like a good idea to me. Not worried about work involved it's jus time to save up hehe. I jus put a full reconditioned box in so should be a few months till need another lol. was thinking of doin the justy convertion then when I'm abit older turbo it. But it's all trying to save up :/. What about input shafts and fly wheel? Thanks

Flywheel stays the same. Input shaft not sure on until I line it all up. Instant custard might be able to shed some light on that.

Use a 190mm vauxhall clutch plate to sort that out
There are specialist d shaft makers out there, they might even be able to mod the gti shafts to suit

The input shaft is longer in the F13 than it is in the F17, it will need trimming if your using the F13 as it hits the block before the box is fully joined up.
Some of the newer Vauxhalls use cable shift instead of a rod which could be easier if the rod change turns out tricky, you have to match the gear selector on the gearbox with the gear pattern and the gearstick has to have reverse in the right place but it doesn't matter if it's 5 or 6 speed.
Clutch uses the original flywheel and cover and needs the Vauxhall plate.
I'm using a F17 which has a slightly different bellhousing, enough of the holes line up on the adapter plate still but I am going to see about getting a perfect match made.
I hope the Vauxhall box can take more than 160 bhp, I'm planning on starting at 180!

If the input shaft is longer wouldnt it be better to use the f13 in a swift, I know the mini boys will need longer gearing of the higher boxes coz of the 10" wheels, but the f13 will have shorter gearing and you can get the input shaft turned down to the right length with the right dia on the end of the spline for the swift shaft bearing in the flywheel
How much bigger/smaller is the end of the vaux shaft for the fly bearing?
If it is a diferent size couldnt you use a 13 shaft in a 17 box and get it turned down?

I don't doubt the the 13 shaft will fit in the 17.
The shafts hits the bearing as you say and it could be turned down to fit inside, but the option is there to use the 17 instead if you didn't want to mess about, although it would be alot easier to line up if the shaft was turned down.
I went with a wide ratio 3.55 final drive, as the wider gearing should hopefully be more useable in the Mini and it's small wheels and the 3.55 final should keep revs down at 70mph cruising.

You mite be able to get a different bearing for the flywheel to suit they do thin race bearings so the balls are smaller allowing bigger hole most bearing shops should be able to sort one out
