Brake fluid Empty Brake fluid

I have completely stripped my car down and I am rebuilding it. I was told to upgrade the brake fluid to dot5/5.1 rather than sticking to standard which is dot3/dot4. What benefit will I get, or shall I just stick to standard?

I've got thedot 5.1 fluid. I'm going to be putting it in soon. Any warnings or things I should be aware of, or should I just go ahead?

I really did not like the silicon stuff named dot 5.1 . It has a spongy feel and it's made for classic cars.
Use ferodo dot 3 or dot 4.

I think the the brake fluid is the last brake system upgrade, because first your brake pads will have to be changed to race spec then your rotors and after that your brake fluid.
You'll never boil dot 4 brake fluid unless you will abuse your brakes on and on and after they get red hot , you stop the car and without cooling the brake fluid inside the caliper will boil and from there to the rest of the system.
I think it's pretty logical....don't you. You can get some ferodo racing or castrol racing , motul and i'm sure that you can find others.
The fact that i'm sugesting the use of ferodo products has nothing to do with the brand, it could very easly be some xxxx brake products,as long as it gets the job done right i'll try it and if i'msatified i'll recommend it to others.

racing brake fluid is not designed to be usied in standard brake systems. No matter what the label states , it will weaken your rubber o rings in your brake system and eventualyy leaks will occur and there is a good chance that your master cylinder will fail.
Dot 4 is very good for daily use and ocasional agresive driving.
