ok ive decided that i want to turbo my gti, but would like to try make it awd first.
now i like to think iam a good fabricator/merchanic, so ill do all work myself.
and i would buy a whole justy awd to use as doner car.

bits i am unsure on are:-
gessing the justy gearbox bolts to gti engine?
and i can use gti clutch, flywheel and starter?
deos the justy rear diff, driveshafts and hubs "bolt in"?
and deos the rear prop go in ok, and will i need a differnt exaust beacaise of this?

been doing some searching and wot i could find is

gearbox mounts need fabricating and fitting
1600 awd front shafts, do the justy ones not work???
and i will be welding up viscus and rear diff.

any help would be apreciated, i am sure its all been coverd before but cant seam to find much. thanks scott

No offense Mr scottrod but are implying on converting your swift to 4wd, by putting the justy running gear in the swift shell?????

No! the floor pans are completely different, your best bet is to put your GTi stuff into the justy shell Very Happy It is not essential to use the 1600 shafts plus I think you will be very lucky to get your hands on some unless you already have? the exhaust is different plus quite few other things, its a lot more work than people think! if your thinking of turbo charging then I would put your money into that as it could be costly to go 4wd! I no because this is what I am in the process of doing myself!lol

I would just turbo your car and enjoy driving it about, it will still be alot of fun and you will be pleasantly surprised with the performance of a 200hp Fwd swift, cuz of the power to weight its pretty insane I think my car was the equivalent of around 240bhp per tone at 10psi of boost. So even with low boost applications you can still have alot of fun, then if you still want to go 4wd then look into it. Very Happy

if you havnt started to turbo your engine yet, i would reccomend buying a justy and doing it to that, would save you alot of trouble in the future.
I run 200hp on front wheel drive with the justy box, its a great drive, beat many cars on the road inc R33 skyline, DB9 and an M3, but if i could start over i would do it on a justy. Theres one for sale on here for £800

ive got a spare gti engine that i took out of my samurai.
if i was to buy a starndard justy, would the gti engine simply bolt in to gearbox and into original mounts? would that work? thanks scott

Will it bolt in, yeah sure its the same block 'G13b'.

No its not just the wiring...

Some things to think about are the hoses, ecu, coil, fuel system, brake booster, brakes, exhaust...etc

also you will need to use the Justy flywheel and clutch, id recommend getting the justy fly lightened as they weigh a tonne
