Hi,
Ive just dropped a 1.3 DOHC into my 1998 1.3 SOHC swift, now I have the wiring to sort, so I'm after either wiring diagrams for both cars or whatever wiring i need to get it running (preferably without splicing so I'm guessing i need engine loom, dash loom and clocks?) already got a couple of engine looms for the gti but not 100% sure there complete.

Any help would be very appreciated, unless there's anyone on here who is close to Nottingham that i could hire to finish the job Wink

cheers, Tyrone.

I did the same conversion a little while ago, you will need as u have said the engine loom, dash (chassis) loom, and the clocks, the 1.3 SOCH loom will connect up to the GTI engine loom and allow the engine to turn, however it wont fire as the wiring for the ignition is not all in the right places where the two looms join.

To change the chassis or dash loom all u need to do it remove the dash and inner wheel arch linings, it doesnt go any further back into the car than behind the dash.

Changing both the dash and engine loom will mean that no splicing of looms will be nessecary.

Good Luck

Well dash and arch lining removal wont be a problem (don't have either Wink ) thanks for the advice (i looked into it but always nice to have things confirmed).

So does anyone have a complete engine and chassis loom with clocks (preferably clocks with mileage close to 85k) for sale (not sure if it matters but my ECU is an I2 and i have power steering)

I have a gti coil but no ignitor, noise suppressor etc so after all that with the looms.

Thanks, Tyrone.
