got to the bottom of this in the end

release bearing was fine

a few 'burrs' around the centre of the clutch dish were preventing it disengaging

also one of the holes on the clutch cover wernt matching up with the flywheel, one was offset slightly and when we re-checked everything

the fact was that it must have not been aligned properly in the first place and the spiggot hit it pissed, and the clutch cover wasnt tightend up slowly and oppositly like a car tyre for instance and bent in that procedure

nothing else my mechanic thought could have caused this other than manufacture error which is doubtfull

got another clutch and went on straight away no problem

just fort id let know the guys who had posted
cheers lads
